Nikon D5100 isn't focusing when using the flip screen?

Nikon D5100 isn't focusing when using the flip screen?

Added (1). I've had my Nikon D5100 for a few years now and kept it in great condition. Just recently I've been having trouble focusing with it. I did a complete reset and put it back to factory settings, and I'm still having a hard time. Whenever I use my flip screen and change my viewing from the view finder to the live view switch, it just won't focus. I keep getting the red box, and it won't let me take pictures. I have no idea how to fix this. Any idea what I can do?

Nikon d3200 lens choice?

I have a nikon d3200 with a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens. I was considering the nikon 18-105mm(used). Will it be a good choice or will it be better to buy the 35mm 1.8g(new) and the 50mm 1.8g(new) both.

Is the Nikon D3200 better than my old Nikon D40x?

I still love my D40x and get nice photos from it, but it is 9 years old and I'm wondering how it compares to the 3200 or around that price range… Not sure if I should upgrade… I'm looking at a nice black friday deal on a D3200. I shoot at professional levels with the D40x, engagement shoots, newborn shoots, modeling tests, etc. I'd like to shoot for magazines some day, so should I just wait and save up for something like the 750? I don't want to waste money, I just really LOVE photography, it's like breathing for me, and it excites me. I'm going through chemo right now so shooting professionally again is going to be a while. I did the engagement shoots and newborn shoots etc during college. Then I got sick… I'm hoping to aim for my dream and step it up once I get better, but that'll be about a year from now, most likely.

So… Thoughts?

Nikon D80 battery won't charge?

I have a Nikon D80 with two batteries, recently both batteries are acting strangely, one battery won't hold a charge, I put it on the charger over night and this morning the charging light was green indicating that it was charged, so I put it in my camera and the camera said it wasn't charged. With the other the other battery, it can be fully charged and will randomly just die, even at a full charge. What should I do about this? I have ordered some new battery's hoping that's the problem, but they won't be in for a while and I need to be able to use the camera today if possible. Any suggestions?

Beginner choosing between two SLRs: Canon Rebel T3i and Nikon D3200?

Hi

I'm a beginner choosing between Canon Rebel T3i and Nikon D3200. From most of the reviews I read Nikon has much better specs and suppose to take better photos. However when I tried it out at store I found that Canon ends up taking photos with much more vivid color and looks better to me. (As a beginner)

So my question would be that does it mean that Canon has better image processing that makes the photo it takes look better? Does it mean in theory I can use a graphic processing software to make the Nikon pictures look even better then Canon one? Would that be hard or prove to be too much trouble for me as a beginner?
