Is the Nikon D3100 worth buying? - 1
I was looking for an upgrade from my old point-and-shoot Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS, and stumbled upon the Nikon D3100 which looks fantastic for its value. I found it for only $379, although it is about two years old, which is a bit dated. Should I wait for newer, higher quality cameras or buy the D3100?

I'm looking to buy a nikon camera, but am wondering if the number of mega pixels matter. Like the nikon d40 has only 6.1… The nikon d3100 has 12.4… Does it affect the pictures if you have less?

What Flashgun Should I Purchase For My Nikon D3100?
About a year ago, I bought my Nikon D3100 DSLR. I'm doing more and more amateur studio shoots so I need a flashgun because the flash on the D3100 is a little rubbish. I'm kindaa strapped for cash, so the cheaper the better. The Jessops 360AFD Digital Flashgun looked pretty perfect, but now Jessops has closed, I don't know what to do!

Can I use my camera as a webcam on my Laptop?
I have a Nikon D3100 and my webcam on my laptop has very bad quality. Is there a way to hook up the Nikon to my laptop to use for a video chat. Basically I just want to know if there's a way to replace the video on the camera with the one on the Laptop.

Nikon D7000 Kit 18-105 VR lens High speed shots?
I just Bought a Nikon D7000 18-105 VR Kit. Well I really want to take Sport action shots(wrestling, football, track, ext) but they have been coming out blurry and I have no idea what I have done wrong. Right now I do not have the means to buy a new lens cause I saved up for a while to get this one. So what can I do to take the pictures I want so they will not come out blurry and won't be unusable?
(I have been taking pictures for awhile this is the first Nikon i have ever had. So please give me a bit of a break)

Is it worth upgrading from a Nikon D40X to a Nikon D3000?
I have an oldish D40X that needs a good (professional) cleaning and I was thinking of having it cleaned and gifting it to a friend's daughter who is wanting her first DSLR. I also have an opportunity to pick up a used D3000 body that will be probably about $150 more than getting the D40X professionally serviced.
Is it worth the extra money to spring for the D3000, or should I stick with having the D40X cleaned? It doesn't seem like the D3000 offers too many additional features. If the D3000 is worth it, and gives more room to grow, I'm willing to go that route. Just wanting to know if it's enough of an upgrade to be worth the extra cost.
Also, keep in mind, the camera is going to a 16 year old who up until now has only worked with point and shoots.
Added (1). This isn't for me at all. I'm going to give one of those two cameras to a teenager, for her first DSLR. I have no idea what her photography skills are (although I know she has taken some nice shots with her point and shoot), or what would best fit her. She wants a DSLR to play with and will probably look into some classes once she has one. I just want to give her some room to grow along with her first "real" camera. I'm wondering if there's enough "extra" in the D3000 to make it worth the extra cost.
