Is there a problem with my nikon d90?
I have purchased a nikon d90 a month ago. I never used the sports mode before. But now when i use it i'm able to take only single shot in it. I was being told that the sports mode takes continuous pictures, but mine is not. I want to ask is there a problem with my camera or there needs to be some settings thats i have to change

Tips on photographing a small outdoor gig?
I've been asked to shoot a small gig next week that some friends of mine will be playing at. The trouble is, I've never done anything like this before and would love some tips.
The band will be probably playing outside (evening time), but may come inside to a dimly lit room if it rains. Either way they will be fairly close. A few stage lights are available inside though I'm not sure exactly which kind, more than likely green or red. This could cause problems I know.
I'm by no means a professional or even relatively experienced photographer-I have a Nikon D40 that I use mostly for sports/outdoor activities (pictures of pets and horse riding) and general snapshots. These usually turn out quite well. I have a basic understanding of ISO and aperture ( assuming I'm right in saying that I should up the aperture for darker rooms?)
I use 3 lenses- a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G, which I think will not be helpful in this situation.
a Nikkor 50mm 1.8, I think I will probably shoot with this although I'm least used to it.
and the Nikon D40 kit lens, 18-55mm.
Any and all tips and helpful suggestions are greatly appreciated. What are the most important things I should remember for shooting indoors versus outside?

is this a good tripod? From it's spec it can handle 20Kg weight. I'm going to use Nikon D7000 with tokina 12-24mm lens. It can be 189cm high with the center column extended and 160cm without extending. Though Chinese one, I suppose it is a good one. Please, give your valuable advice on this one.

Getting started in photography?
Alright now I don't plan to do this full time just as a hobby. I have a decent camera (Nikon D3100) I just don't know what to take a picture of that may sound stupid but that's where I'm at. What i really wanted the camera for is for taking pics of lightning and severe weather but we don't always have a storm. Really my question is what do i take pictures of in between storms?

Is GCSE Photography more theory or hands on work?
I'm taking GCSE Photography and I just want to know if the course is more theory based or hands on based work. I would prefer it if it was more hands on. I'm getting a DSLR (Nikon D3100) regardless as I have wanted one for a while and have a passion for photography. Also, is there any accessories that you could recommend to me (within a reasonable budget for a 14 year old boy [>£25 per accessory]).

Want a new lens for my nikon d3200?
I want to buy the 50mm 1.4 but it's a bit expensive. The 50mm 1.8 is much cheaper and I was wondering if It was worth it to get the 1.4? Used I can get the 1.4 for 280 dollars. The 1.8 new is about 100 I believe. If you need any more info just ask

How to get rule of thirds on Nikon D3200 LCD?
There must be a setting somewhere. When I put the LCD on, by default Nikon put a silly 16 box grid instead of a 9 box grid as required for the rule of thirds. Well, not required, but it would be helpful. Is it possible to get the 9 box grid on a Nikon D3200?

Camer (Nikon D5100) automatically changes shutter speed / aperture - even in manual=?
Hi, I have a Nikon D5100.In manual, I can change the shutter speed and aperture to my desired settings and get a good shot, but if I immediately want to take a shot after, using the same settings, I find the camera has changed the settings. Like shutter speed may have been set at 1/50 but jumped to 1/200 after the first shot. And these settings, changed by the camera, make the picture way underexposed or overexposed. Can i change the setting so the camera does not do this and so the settings stay how I want them?
