Nikon D3100 lenses compatibility?

I have Nikon D3100 and i would like to buy Nikon 55-300/4-5.6 AF-S G ED VR DX, i just want to know is it compatible on Nikon D3100? And it works well on D3100 kit?

The Nikon D3100 can take pretty much all Nikon lenses made over the past 50 years

there are varying degrees of compatibility, however. All lenses will work, as in they will mount and you can use them, but depending on the lens, you may not have metering or autofocus.

AF-S G lenses work 100% with the D3100
AF D lenses work except that you do not have autofocus

It is compatible. Any lens with a Nikon F-Mount will work with your D3100.
