Nikon Camera.which one?

I'm getting a camera for my birthday next week. And I need to decide which one.
so I heard Nikon is good, so I'm sticking with that. But should I go for the D3100 or the D5100?
I'm a 15 year old girl, who has been into photography for a while. I had a lower quality camera, so now I'm upgrading for one that will fit my needs better.

The D5100 is a significantly better camera, and the price difference isn't too great at the moment because it has been discounted ready for the D5200 launch.

The D5100 movable screen is very useful for overhead and macro shots, plus it can be turned right round against the camera back to give it extra protection when it is not in use.

In the longer term, the D5100 will be a camera with enough features to advance your photography a long way. It is easy to use for a beginner but it has a lot of advanced functionality. It is better than the new D3200 as well.

Get a D3200. Buy better lenses before anything else because they will last a lifetime.
