My nikon d5100 stopped working

It's only 2 weeks old and today it stopped working. I can't get a live screen view anymore and can't take pictures. Some guy off the street told me it might be a shutter problem
Please help, I'm on holiday and I need my camera to take photos@!

1.Is it the battery? It might need a charge.
2. If you dropped it it could be broken. Try find a camera or electronic shop, they might be able to help you. But charge it first, because you'll feel like an idiot if you go to the camera store and they tell you it just needed a charge.
