Is the The Nikon D3100 good for beginners?
This camera is $549 at Best Buy. I will be saving up some money over the summer to finally buy my first camera. Is it worth the it, your feedback. If you have other suggestions of a better brand, or a camera cheaper but as good Please let me know!
Yes, The D3100 is a good for beginners camera, several reasons.
First of all, it can accept the vast selection of Nikon lenses, autofocusing with AF-S versions and manually focusing with many others.
Second, it has a Guide Mode, that will lead you through most common situations. Not a bad way to give you success as you learn.
Third, it is capable of excellent photos, with high-end features in an introductory price-range.
I'll be honest. The Nikon D3100 is a C+ camera. It's cheaper than others, more expensive than others and it shows.
I would honestly save a bit more and get the Canon T3i for $800. The T3i is the top of the line and you will not regret it.
YouTube "Canon T3i short films" and look at the quality. It's STELLAR.
There are worse out there. See how it feels in your hands before you commit yourself, though.
If you want to buy a DSLR for birding go for Pentax as it also in body image stabilization. You can save with non-OS lenses as the body will do the job for telephoto hand shake reduction.
For most other purposes the Nikon 3100 DSLR is a great camera. Since you seem to be on budget the D3100 makes perfect sense, however the D3200 offers much higher megapixel which most experts wouldn't justify spending on unless you want to print poster signage.
Yea its a great beginners DSLR but I suggest you to wait a little and buy Nikon D3200. Its a great camera… Also an upgrade of nikon D3100.
Nikon D3200 is great at taking low light shots and offers 24 mp images…
