Is the Nikon D3100 worth the money?
I have always loved photography (I'm no professional and I have read that this is a good camera for amateurs). The cheapest I can find it is for £457.96 this includes the camera, bag, memory card and polarising filter. I will be going on holiday soon and university so I wanted a decent camera for pictures to take of my memories back home before moving for uni where I can take more of the city and university itself. I'm also wanting to take it up as a hobby and considering some cameras similar cost an extra £100 I thought this was a good buy. I have read reviews and there has been no less than 3 stars so I'm assuming that it is a good quality camera to an extent. Thanks to anyone who can help if you would suggest another then please let me know.
Buying a D3100 would be worth it if you actually plan on learning about photography. If you don't have any interest in learning about photography, a point & shoot camera, such as the Coolpix L120 would be fine for you.
Taylor gave you the best advice. It depends on how serious you are. The Nikon D3100 is a great entry level camera that would give you years of use.
If you just want snap shots, a bridge camera will be fine.
I've been using a d40 since it first came out and recently got a d3100, a worthy successor to the d40. A great camera at a reasonable price. I love it!
