Is AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED compatible with nikon d5000?
Hey guys I was planning to buy a lens just wanted to know that is AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED
And AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR
Compatible with nikon d5000 and do they have auto focus. Also please tell which is a better buy
Any Nikon AF-S lens will auto focus on your D5000. The less expensive Nikon AF lenses will not.
Ya… Both lenses works well on D5000 and they both have built-in focusing motor, so they do auto focus! Both are DX lens and so is your camera, thus they work great on DX sensor bodies like D5000
I'll suggest to go for 55-300mm VR, It gives you an extra reach, it has 2 ED (extra dispersion) glass elements which gives u high contrast, punchier and sharper pics than 55-200mm VR which has got just 1 ED element.
I have personally tested both the lens, 55-300mm VR is a better performer in every aspect except price. If you have limited budget then 55-200 is a good lens for its price, else 55-300 is the way to go!
But if you can spend some more, around 28k, go for AF-S FX 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IF-ED VR. This lens has much more advanced optics, quicker auto focus, looks more professional and easily outperforms 55-200 and 55-300 in terms of picture quality. This is my personal experience with this lens and I can assure you… You will not be disappointed putting that extra money in 70-300!
