It will be a manual focus lens on the D3300. Do you want to deal with manual focus? Kind of sucks on digital cameras since they don't have split-prism focus screens.

The G version may suit you better.

The aperture isn't wide enough for selective focus.

How about a 50mm f/1.8. It's cheap and good. This will get you started.

That lens will fit the D3300 without problems. Is it good? No, IMO. It lacks wide angle. 28mm, for practical purposes, is still standard with APS-C.

Nope for portrait, 50mm 1.8 is good and cheap too.

That lens is a general purpose lens with a largish zoom range which is "fairly" ok for portraiture. I might advise a lens of around 70mm for portraiture using a crop-frame DSLR, and 70mm comes within the range of that lens. Indeed a 50mm lens of max aperture f1.4 would also suit for portraits.

That lens is designed for full-frame DSLRs, but there's no optical problem with using it on crop-frame DSLRs.

You really need a couple of hours chat with someone who knows DSLRs, to get you going in general use of that sort of camera. Or join a local beginners class in photography.
