I Really need to know if these two are compatible because i don't want to buy the lens and have it not be compatible with my d3000 ( the D3000 has an F-mount for lenses)

Added (1). Please email me at micah--@hotmail.com if you need addition details ( anything helps) thanks guys

I can't seem to get to the website, but from what I read with wikipedia, they would be like Tokina or Vivitar. This means that they have the same lenses but with different mounts. If you are unsure, call them up and see.

I would consider Nikon 85mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Portable medium telephoto lens that is ideal for indoor and outdoor portraits
Rear Focusing system for fast and smooth optical performance
Subtle blurring of background for beautifully natural and evocative portraits
High-speed f1.8 aperture
Compact and lightweight at 13.2 ounces

I used to sell Soligor lenses "back in the day". They were inexpensive lenses just below the Vivitar, Tokina, & Tamron 3rd-party brands.

Chances are the Soligor 85-300mm is an AI or AI-converted F-mount lens. That means that is will mount on your D3000, but won't have any electronic connections for metering. It was also pre-autofocus, so you'll need to manually focus with it.

I'm sure the price is attractive, but you'll spend more time getting the lens to work for you than you'll like. Manual metering (maybe), manual focusing, and very heavy. While you're adjusting, and fiddling with it, the photographic moment will pass you buy.
