How many pictures can you put on a 4GB memory card?
I'm getting a nikon d3100 and I'm going to get a 4GB memory card. How many pics can I fit on that
4000 1MB pictures, or 1 4GB picture. Or 2 2GB pictures. Or 8384 477KB pictures.
About 1000 to 1500 pics
The amount of pics will depend on the resolution you choose
First to get the most out of your fine D3100, set your camera to its highest resolution
Pages 64, 65 and 66 in your user manual.
Page 187 will give you what you want when using a 4 gb card
4GBs worth.
Digital images don't come in standard sizes, it will depend on what format you are shooting in, what compression settings are on the image, whether you are shooting RAW, or if you are shooting jpeg - how much detail is in the images.
I know 2 GB gives you over 2000 so I would assume that 4GB would have to have atleast 4-5000 pics
On a Nikon D700 my RAW images are approx 12 Mb each and I reckon to get 300 images on a 4Gb compact flash card. As noted above the number of images depends on the size of output image you select from the menu options
