How does the nikon d5100 compare to the canon eos rebel t3?

My uncle has the nikon d5100 and i have the canon eos rebel t3.

What is the difference is the actual quality of the digital photo they both take?
what are the megapixels of both?

and any other information you want to give would be greatly appreciated!

I have not heard all that great things about the cannon eos rebel t3. I was about to get that camera, until I was told that the rebel cameras are not the best, so i do believe that the nikon d5100 is a bit better. I have a nikon d3100 and it takes stunning photos.

I don't know too much about the canon eos rebel t3. My friend has it, and her photography is great.but, that is definitely aided by the fact that she has great concepts and skill. I have the nikon d5100 and absolutely love the quality.

Oh my gosh. I love the Rebel T3 and want one very, very much myself. Nikon is pretty much my enemy, ;D but the d5100 is an alright camera. My friend has that one and it's a bit slow at taking pictures, and has to sort of "recharge" its flash a lot. When it focuses though, it is quite amazing. We were taking close-up pictures of a gecko with the d5100 and they turned out stunning. BEING OPINIONATED, I would say Canon all the way, but go to a local Target or something and play with both cameras in the electronics department. Hope this helps.

This isn't really an answer to your question but I wanted to ask your opinion on the canon eos rebel t3 since you said you owned one. I'm saving up for that camera and i'm just doing a little research on it…
