First shoot in all Manual, tell me what you think
This was my first shoot in all manual with manual focus. I just went for it and didn't look back. Tell me what you think!
Nikon D3000, 50mm 1.8 lens (manual focus), No flash. ISO 100 on all.
Thanks in Advance.
Added (1). Secret a: I was in center-weight metering. The subject was moving around playing on a playground and in an out of direct sun/shade.
Wow i really think they are good
can you answer mine please
It looks like you've got a good understanding of the controls on your camera and how they relate to one another. For your first manual shoot, you did a helluva job! Keep working at it!
Alot of them are underexposed. You are learning to read the meter but you still need to remember it is OK to not listen to the meter. You were on matrix average metering. That means the whole scene was averaged out to be in the middle. The sun spots are too bright and the face is too dark. What you need to do is set it to center weight metering and practice more to get the feel of making the face brighter and letting the sun spots burn out. Or if you want to keep the sun spots nice and tepid, expose for the sun spots and use flash to brighten the face.
It can get complex, but I'm glad you are putting in the effort. Keep working on it. I know you'll get it soon.
Nice
They are OK, but what was your reason for shooting in manual mode? Did you have a reason for it?
