ALL your AF-S lenses will work on a D7000, whether they are DX or FX lenses.

VR lenses are ones that have image stabilization within the lens.

All the lenses you have for the D5000 will work on the D7000.

DX lenses are those specifically designed for the crop sensor of APS-C cameras, but they will work on full frame cameras (FX) in any case, only with a reduced section of the lens being used. The D7000 is not a full frame camera - it has the same sensor size as the D5000, so there will be no difference. FX lenses will work on DX or FX bodies.

VR is just Nikon's vibration reduction (or image stabilisation) mechanism & has no relevance to DX or FX lenses.

VR is vibration reduction. Most people with a ton of lenses usually know that though.

DX and FX lenses fit on both D5000 and D7000.
