Does nikon d80 have motor drive?

I got a nikon d80 and I realised it doesn't have the same thing as a canon where you hold the button and it drives the lens into the correct focus, I don't mind using it this way where I have to spin the lens but my friends find it annoying and slow to use so was wondering if there was a motor drive option?

It's called autofocus and yes your D80 has it. Download the manual from the nikon website and READ

The Nikon D80 has a switch that selects autofocus or manual focus. You probably need to switch it to autofocus. The Canon bodies don't have that switch, because they have no autofocus drive motor in the body and only use a motor in the lens. (the lenses have their own switch.) Most of the newer Nikon lenses (AF-S) have the motor in the body, but some (AF-D) lenses have a link to the camera body drive. Those AF-D lenses need to have the camera body autofocus switch turned off to be free to manually focus. Although the AF-S lenses do not link to the camera body motor, when the body's switch is set to manual, it also turns off the camera's electronic autofocusing link to the lens.

CJ, read a basic photography manual. Read the users manual that came with your camera. Educate yourself. Educate your friend who apparently complains about the camera yet hasn't bothered learning how to use it.

The D80 can auto focus just like a Canon or any other auto focus camera with an auto focus lens attached. If you have an auto focus lens attached, there's a switch on the left (when holding the camera to your face) of the lens that read "M" or "A," and you want to slide it to "A."

A motor drive is something totally different. "Spinning the lens" is just called focusing.
