Canon EOS Rebel T3 or Nikon?

I want to get a dslr for Christmas. I've never owned one and i want to take clear, crisp, professional looking pictures. I have a tight budget so is the Canon Rebel T3 a good entry level? Or is it bad and the quality isn't so good because of the cheaper price? What about the Nikon D3000 with 10.2 MP? Is it better than the Canon Rebel T3?

Any suggestions and tips would be great!

The Canon Rebel T3 is a good entry level camera. I suggest you compare it to the Nikon D3100, which replaces the D3000. Here is a shootout.

I have the t3. I LOVE it! It is easy to use and has nice features. It is a good entry level dslr and the photos are high quality. It isn't professional, but I would say it is well worth the price. The camera doesn't make photos good though- the person taking them does It is an awesome tool though!
