Can Nikon d3000 be tethered?

Have a nikon d3000 and need to tether it to take time lapse photographs for my class, but i can't get any of the software suites to detect it, which include Camera Capture Pro 2 and dcameraCapture.
Can this camera even be tehered? And if so, what do I need to do it? This is driving me nuts!

Having just searched on google, it seems you can.
Take your pick.

Did you think to look here to see if the D3000 could be tethered before you bought it or the software?

A simple visit to Nikon's website could have saved you a lot of grief and money.
The same applies to Adobe Lightroom 3. These are the cameras supported by the program.
D3
D3s
D3x
D90
D200
D300
D300s
D700
D5000
As you can see, the D3000 is NOT there.
While the D3000 is an excellent entry level camera, that is what it is. Assuming it can be used for much more sophisticated assignments, is beyond its scope.
You will have to list the features you want your dSLR to be able to do and then once you find what it will cost, budget for it.

It can but it's a bit tricky. This program lists the d3000 as working under windows 7
