How to shoot tethered with Nikon D3100 and Macbook Pro?
I just recently purchased a USB connector for my Nikon D3100.
I have a backdrop and lighting in transit.
I would like to figure out how to shoot tether with my Nikon before the studio comes.
I have done research on the internet and could not find anything conclusive.
I'm operating OS X on my Macbook Pro.
What applications can I use to tether for remote as well as review.
I have the Adobe Master Collection CS6.
You may find that shooting tethered is not a good idea.
When shooting in a studio, being tethered to anything, even the power supply for the studio lights can become problematic. The major reason Pocket Wizards are so popular even though they are rather expensive.
The other issue with using a tethered camera is that the time it takes for the image to be copied to the computer. Not a good thing when shooting fashion, when instantaneous photos sometimes are shot as fast as one shot each second.
Adobe Lightroom can tether some Nikon and Canon dSLR cameras, but not all
Here is a link that may help.

I would think that CS6 would, as Lightroom can (as well as Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2).
However, the D3xxx cameras can't. Tethering capability starts with DSLRs at the D5xxx level and up.
There usually isn't direct or official support when it comes to tethering entry level dSLRs from any brand.
For the most part, dSLR makers only give tethering abilities to their semi-pro and pro dSLRs.
You might make it work with some freeware/hack.
