Tethered operation of Nikon D3100?

I was wondering if someone could refer me to an application that lets me record video from my D3100 remotely from my computer. I saw that Nikon has a capture software but it only is a 30 day trial. I have Windows 7 64-bit. Also, Windows doesn't already recognize it as a imaging device when I plug it in so I assume it needs a driver. If anybody could refer me to those two things that would be great!

You have a problem

If you had read the full description of Nikon Control Pro, you will have noticed that the D3100 is not supported.

Adobe Lightroom does not support the D3100 either.

Had you wanted to be able to tether a Nikon camera, you needed to buy at least a Nikon D5100

My guess is that you were in a hurry to buy a dSLR at the lowest price possible and jumped at the D3100. Then later you decided what features you wanted and now you are stuck until you can budget for a camera you can tether to your computer.

NOTE: Tethering has a lot of drawbacks, so don't feel too bad.
