Best lens for Nikon D80 for landscapes?
I'm looking into getting a Nikkor VR 16-85 mm lens for my D80 as an all purpose lens. I do mainly landscapes but also enjoy macro work (flowers/insects). Would this be a good lens to satisfy those needs, or is there something better out there? I don't want to spend more than $600.00.
It will be a good general purpose lens, however, it won't be suitable for macro work. For that you need a dedicated macro (1:1) lens.
If the Nikon 60mm f2.8 macro is too expensive, have a look at the Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro as an alternative - I have one on a D300 & it's an excellent lens.
