Cannon or Nikon, which is a better brand camera?

I'm looking into buying a new camera and these are the two brands I'm looking at, which is better?

Nikon

I had this same problem only last week!

I could not decide whether to get the Canon 600D SLR or the Nikon D5100 SLR.

I tested both in store and there's very little difference.

In the end I chose nikon just personal preference.

I would say for taking pictures Nikon and for making short films or producing video Canon but that's just my opinion everybody's is different
