Camera won't turn on and lens won't retract?
My Nikon S6300 has a problem where the lens is stuck out and the camera won't turn on. I've tried charging it but nothing seems to work. Any idea of what is wrong and how to fix it?
Leave it charging overnight. Try to power on in the morning. If that doesn't solve it, throw away the camera and buy a new one. It's cheaper than having it fixed.
The last suggestion. May destroy your camera, be warned!
Charge the battery until full.
Insert battery. Hold camera in one hand with thumb at the power switch, the other hand holds the struck lens barrel.
1. Power on the camera, there'll be movement of the lens, use **light force** to help the movement.
Power off the camera. If the lens doesn't retract, carefully observe its movement & rotation (remember it with your other hand!)
2. Power on again. Then, power off and exert more force to rotate and push the lens back.
IF you've luck, this extra force will help your lens overcome some loose body that interfere in the lens barrel.
BUT if you exert too much force, you'll destroy the driving gear of the lens. Forever goodbye to it and get the new one.
