Best digicam under 10 k nikon or canon?

I have read several review which rates 1.canon 2. Nikon 3. Sony. I want a Digicam with 10 mp, 5 x zoom, HD video recording and good pics in low light, under 10 K.

Nikon is best

The Nikon D800 is already being given accolades such as being the best camera ever made. In fact, there are rumors that Hasselblad is reducing the price of their cameras due to the threat of the D800.

Canon or Sony do not have anything even remotely close to the D800.

I disagree with AWBoater, from owning a Canon 5D Mark III I would say it matches up quite nicely to the D800. The only thing the D800 has over the 5D Mark III is that it's borderline on a medium format camera which in my opinion is ridiculous, if you're looking to shoot anything that's not in a studio then you'll need a lot of memory cards for your D800 as each photo in RAW format will take up just under 100mb.

As far as low light performance goes, the Nikon D4 and Canon 5D Mark III are currently the two top performers in the DSLR world. You'd be happy with either of those. Both do 1080p video although they're not build as video cameras but they have been used for many big project, especially the Canon 5D series. An episode of House was shot on a 5D Mark II and a movie is currently being shot on the 5D Mark III.

Pair either body with a lens such as the 24-70mm F/2.8 and you'll have a great combination for anything and everything.
