I was wondering if it was at all possible to connect the Rode Videomic to the Zoom H1 and then connecting the Zoom h1 to my nikon D3300?

It is not necessary to connect the H1 to your camera.

Use what is called dual sound recording.

Shoot your video takes and once you are in post, sync the pristine sound from the H1 with the crummy sound from the cameras sound system. Once synced, delete the crummy sound. If you can find a Directors Slate (clapper) use it to make a hard sync sound at the beginning of each scene. A Directors Slate costs about $15

You really do not want to 'tether' things together. Often the mic + audio recorder is operated by a sound guy just out of frame, but a lot closer than the camera to help focus on the subjects dialog.

You might try a Movo battery powered lavilear microphone for the camera attached to your subject. This is about $30-$45 and will give you decent audio to the Nikon and you have the better audio from the Zoom.

This allows you in editing software to fix problems from one audio source that may not have happened in the other.

Wouldn't that be defeating the purpose of those two audio devices? It would be best to connect the mic to the H1 and record audio with that then combine audio and video together in the computer.
