I wasn't aware that they're that much different in terms of price.
Both make very high quality cameras and they're always trying to out-do one another. This is good because it means that they both keep pushing the envelope to do better.
Any good photographer will be able to make good shots with either.
Some people are attraced to certain brands of merchandise and they tend to use them exclusively, although there are comparable products out there that are just as good and cheaper.
Depending on which model or type camera you are looking at, Canon may be more expensive or cheaper than Nikon.
They aren't more expensive than Nikon - some models Canon may be cheaper, others Nikon may be. Set your budget, make a list of DSLR's that fit within it then go into a proper camera store & try them out. Buy which ever one suits YOU the best.
More or less, Nikon and Canon are just about equal.
Right now the Nikon D3100 & Canon Rebel T3 are selling for the same price.
Really? I've always found Nikon to have been more expensive to buy, but you get better build quality for the extra money.
I think Canon and Nikon are much the same price, spec for spec.
It's purely down to preference. I have always used Canon and love the ease of use and superb quality of the camera and prints.
Most serious photographers remain loyal to the brand they start off with.
