Which camera lens should I take with me?

I'm going to England next month and I wanna take my Nikon D3200 and one lens with me because I don't wanna carry two. I only own two lenses, both are Nikon, one is 18-55 and the other one is 55-200. Which one should I take for taking pictures of sights, landscapes and also people? Please don't tell me which one is better for sights and which for people because I really want to know which one to take. I know that there are better lenses than these that have the benefits of both but I don't wanna buy a new one.
I'm also looking for recommendations for a light camera bag for the Nikon D3200 that only fits one camera lens + the camera in. An Amazon link would be very nice as well. (You don't need to recommend something to answer this question.)

(Sorry for my bad English.)

Obviously the 18-55… The other one is probably too long for an all purpose use… And definetly too long for landscapes and similar photos

Do not take the 55-200mm if you can't take both lenses.

It is too narrow for just about everything… You literally will not be able to back up enough to get everything in the shot… And the images will be compressed (no perspective… Things that are far away will look much closer) and low contrast.

If you do take this lens… It is good for crowded streets since it will make everything look much busier and crowded that it actually is. And good for capturing small details and distant things you otherwise would not be able to get close to.

If you are going to a city like London, you will want to take lots of buildings and monuments. So take the 18 - 55
If you are going to a country type place, the 55 - 200 might be better.
Personally, I would take both.

I would take the 18-55mm as you will want the 18mm end for scenery and the 55mm end for people.

If you don't use the long end of the 55-200mm much it might be worth considering selling both and picking up a 18-105mm VR lens instead which would be far more flexible for your trip.

What would it cost you to hire an 18-105mm or 18-200mm lens for the time you are in the UK?

EDIT - be careful in getting a lightweight bag - you don't want it to be too flimsy or the camera won't be adequately protected from the weather or knocks. My wife uses this one with her Nikon D5100: http://www.amazon.co.uk/...0016J7VD8/
That is good enough for DSLR plus 2 lenses - and it has an all-weather plastic hood to give extra rain protection if needed.

I know what I would take with me.

* One dSLR
* 12-24 mm wide angle zoom for shooting amazing landscapes, cityscapes and the narrow streets in the villages.
* 24-70 mm zoom for shooting events and details found in some of the historic buildings
* 105 mm f/2.8 macro for shooting closeups of just about anything that caught my fancy. It is also an excellent lens for capturing my mates profiles when they are not looking.

Why you would limit yourself by taking only one lens is something I do not understand.

Carry all your gear in a backpack. Any camera bag you might buy just screams, "I have camera gear in me. Steal Me!"

The backpack I use also carries my notebook computer up to two dSLR cameras, four lenses and a 1 tb external drive. It is a SwissGear ScanSmart Laptop Backpack and costs less than $40 USD

If you are a serious photographer, you take both.

If you were visiting Scotland or Wales, I'd suggest you take both, but if it's only England, you may as well leave your camera at home.

But if you must choose, I'd take the 55-200. It will suit you much better for scenic photos, and is adequate for people.

When you buy an entry level DSLR a very large percentage are supplied with just 1 lens. That lens is the 18-55mm.
If you can only take 1 (why?) then that is the one to take.

I'd take the 18-55mm. It sees more so you can easily take whole castles and bridges and churches if you want.
