I've seen a few similar questions but not really saying what I'd want.

What is better for an "advanced armature"?

Nikon D3100 or Canon T3?

Thanks!

Added (1). To Andrew Darwin was right. Some people, like you are just to stupid for the human race. Why don't you shove your head back up your ***.It's people like you that humans a bad name.

In your case, a brain. An advanced amateur would, at least, be able to spell it.

186, 000 people have asked such questions, all of them too stupid to realise;

a) There are more than two manufacturers.

b) The only difference is personal preference.

And no, I don't HAVE to insult you, but decapitating you as a disgrace to several million years of human evolution is frowned upon.

Both are entry level affordable camera, Nikon D3100 have bit advance core specification but they have same standard ISO range, so at the end you get approx same image quality from both the DSLRs.

better to see a specification comparison review between these two camera (at source)

Were I you, I think I'd consider setting my budget $100 higher, which would then put you in Nikon D5100 territory. Not sure what the Canon price equivilent is, but while the 3100 is a decent camera, the 5100 is leaps and bounds ahead of it. More pixels, higher ISO, HDR, movable viewing screen, better high ISO noise control, the more or less same 18-55 kit lens has VR (image stabilization) which the 3100 doesn't and a lot more menu and image control settings.

My favorite tool says the Nikon D3100 is quite a bit better.

Be sure to look over the reasons it gives.
