So some people have discouraged me from getting a Nikon camera like the D3200. I need camera i can use to shoot tv ads, youtube funny skits, maybe a tv show in YouTube as well and a short film or documentary. Is this something i can start with, as my budget is small.

I hope that these "people" who have discouraged you from buying a Nikon D3200 have a complete knowledge of the fundamentals of photography, lighting and composition. They probably do not, but are novices who just assume that Canon cameras are the "best"

For your own peace of mind, do your OWN research. Compare the Nikon D3200 and Canon T6 on DP Review and read the professional reviews there.

Next visit DXOmark.com and compare the sensor performance of thoee two camera.

You need to know that just buying a T6 or D3200 is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to shooting video with a digital SLR. Be sure to budget for a digital SLR rig, sturdy tripod with fluid head, a fast computer (Intel i7 CPU) with at least 12 gb of RAM around 3 tb of storage (using an SSD drive for running your operating system and video editing program) and a good video editing program like Adobe Premiere CC. If you want to insure pristine sound in your videos, you need to budget for some kind of external sound recorder. See the third link

I think I showed you a link to a video shot by a person who understands the fundamentals of videography, lighting video and how to use camera movements and lens choices to tell a story. Yes, this video was shot using an older Nikon D7000, but it is NOT the camera, but the skills of the videographer that produces such videos

I write this as a member with a degree in filmmaking. There's much more to creating a video than just a camera, you walking around shooting "stream of conscious" (NO script) video and hoping to later create a completed viewable video.

It takes planning and knowing what gear you need for each project. Yes definitely It's a dSLR. DSLRs were never meant to do video. The right tool is a digital camcorder. There are reasons though to use a dSLR for video. Cost is one and the others are technical. If you don't know exactly how to setup a dSLR properly to shoot photographs you would be better off using a camcorder for video instead.
