Will the Sigma Lens 70-200 APO AF work on a Canon 5d Mark II?

I found a listing on craigslist for the 70-200 APO AF lens for an extremely reasonable cost of $125 where abouts the Canons version is atleast a thousand. The woman writes that it is for the Sigma body and won't work on Canons bodys but then at the end admits that she doesn't know anything really about it. I'm thinking she just found it around her house and might not have any clue about it. I'm in the process of trying to get new gear for next year, but I'm also moving all in the same month and my budget is really tight so I thought this might be a great idea.

The description reads:
NEW IN BOX

I don't know much about this lens, but will write all the details I can find.
It is a Sigma Brand Lens, for a SIGMA CAMERA BODY. It will not mount onto a Canon or Nikon, etc., unless you find that some sort of adapter exists.
It has never been used, and is in its original box, and comes with paperwork, carrying case, and lens hood. It is several years old, but I can't find a date anywhere. The box has some marks and scratches on it, but the lens and the case are in fine condition.

Please do your homework and be careful about buying this; I don't take returns. I'm just getting rid of some things around the house.

Since it's for Sigma DSLRs, it indeed won't work on a Canon. Or do you doubt that it may really be for a Sigma camera? Sigma does indeed make DSLRs, albeit it's one of the more obscure brands for camera bodies, and thesea use a different lens mount than the other brands.

Too bad - $125 for a 70-200/2.8 is a steal.

If it is for a Sigma body it could be a fabulous bargain for someone who has a Sigma body. There really is such a thing.

But not a very large number of them.

Typically, Sigma makes each lens in 5 different versions, to fit Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Pentax, and Sony bodies. The lens optics may be the same, but the mounting ring will be tailored for each brand.

So if the lens states "Sigma" mount, you can be assured it will not fit a Canon.

The reason the lens is priced so low is that there are not many Sigma bodies in use. If the lens were a Canon or Nikon mount, it would certainly be selling for $600 or more.
