Is the Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM APO Auto focus Lens good for shooting cricket?

I need a big lens for cricket and the sigma is the biggest cheapest i could find is it any good
i will be using it on my nikon d90 and will have to be about 100 to 150 meters away from the batter/bowler

I have a colleague who uses one and he likes it.
But really? 100 to 150 meters away? It seems you are in a different county

When I shoot football sometimes I'm 90 meters away from the action, mostly closer to 40-50 meters. Why so far away?

I hope you plan on using a nice monopod to hold all that weight

If you are shooting in the full light of day? Should be fine. I'd look closely at the sharpness in the reviews to be sure it's going to be up to par there.
