IF you WANT FOR PRFESSIONAL USE THEN NIKON IS THE BEST. OTHERWISE SONY'S LATEST STABLE CAMERAS ARE ALSO GOOD

What's you budget? Do you want to buy it for everyday use or professional use? Check these facts first and then decide. Generaly speaking, these days most brands are offering good megapixels, zoom and Full HD video recording in the 10-15k budget range. Check Sony, i saw their advt for new range in cameras. Try other brands as well and then compare and decide.

Nikon or Sony cybershot as it has 1080hd with high megapixel so that picture comes clear. Think over it.

For casual photography the Canon PS and IXUS series is great. The digic 4 processors are great to produce more neutral and natural image color wise. Look for something that has RAW image capture.

Also canon cameras allow the third party CHDK firmware to mount over the stock firmware for better camera tricks and control.

However the best digital camera will be a professional grade camera like the Canon 5D MK2 or the Canon 7D with APSC sensor.

The Nikon D90 is the best digital SLR camera even today price to performance wise.
