Nikon SLR Cameras

Which of these dsrl cameras is best for beginners?

I'm looking to start photography so I'm looking for a new camera (dslr) I've found 3 that I really like… Which one is best?
canon 1100D with a dc lense -£319
A Nikon D3100-£362
Or Sony A37-£419

I'm interested in the camera having with good frames per second so I can take pictures of fast moving objects, so if you could tell me which of these has the best fps I'd greatly appreciate it.

Feel free to suggest other good dslr cameras for beginers. However I can only stretch to abouts £420-450

Any dSLR would be good for beginners since you will have to learn how to balance ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture on ANY camera you choose whether you spend $600 or $43, 000 on one

The SLT Sony cameras are NOT good for shooting action or sports since they use an electronic viewfinder which lags as you move the camera

The best Nikon at this time is really the D3200 if you can spare the extra pennies.

If it you have an interest in shooting photography with lots of action, you may be better off going down the second hand route. The a37 has a high headline frame rate, however it's not a practical solution at the moment as it doesn't show you a live image in the viewfinder. The D3100 and 1100D are also not ideal as their AF systems are somewhat less than the best, and because of the relatively low frame rate they do have quite a long viewfinder blackout.

In the sub £500 price bracket, the old and ageing Canon 1D mkII still offers the most bang for your buck if you're only interested in action. The 1D mkII has 45 AF points, with very clever AI to help with continuous autofocus, it also has a practical 8.5 FPS frame rate, with a very short viewfinder blackout. Plus because of the tank like build quality of these cameras, they are rather hard to break, so even a slightly tired example will still be pretty good.

Additionally, often you do need a long lens with action photography, the 18-55mm kit lenses from the three cameras you have selected isn't ideal for the job. I would suggest you have a look at the Tamron SP 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di VC USD, it isn't the cheapest of lenses, however it is very good and a lot less than it's closest rivals (Canon's 70-300mm f4-5.6 L IS USM, and Nikon's AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f4.5-5.6G VR EF-ID).

I freely suggest the Pentax K-30 in Crystal Blue.
