Which of these cameras do you prefer?
Hi. I'm looking to buy a new camera and am an intermediate user. I want one of these two.
Nikon P100- 10.3 Megapixel with 26X Zoom
Kodak Z981- Aprx. 12 Megapixel with 26X Zoom.
I know that the Nikon is supposed to have a better processor. Does Nikon make a better camera? Which one do you prefer and which one is significantly better?
Thanks so much in advance!
Added (1). Can somebody please explain this to me? The Kodak has better megapixels and zoom but a CCD processor.
The Nikon has a CMOS processor. Does this processor on the Nikon out rule the one on the Kodak and automatically make it better? Is it simply better hardware?
I will go with the Kodak because it is the oldest camera manufacturer brand. Hope this helps. Byee.
Stone,
Forget the Kodak. They were wonderful with film, but have not had the greatest quality in their lower end digital cameras - the bridge might be slightly better but the point & shoots don't stack up.
Instead, look at the Canon SX30 IS - the Canon bridge camera often tops the Nikon in that category in Consumer Rpts. And other indie tests…
Do not go with the Kodak. Of the two, I would go for the P100.
Canon's SX30IS, Panasonic's DMC-FZ8 and Fuji's HS10 are all great bridge cameras.
P100.
I would go with the Nikon as Nikon makes excellent cameras. Kodak hasn't made a quality camera for 30 years. They specialize in garbage for the masses.
