Which of these 2 DSLR camera's do you prefer?
I've finally decided to either buy the Nikon 3100 or the Canon Rebel T2i, but i would like to know which camera you prefer and why? I'm stuck on which one to get, but i'm kind of leaning towards the Canon, what do you think?
You are the one who will be using it, so get something that feels natural to you with easy to find controls. Both Nikon and Canon are great brands. I went with Canon because of the way it felt in my hands and the layout of the controls. You will miss shots if you are constantly fumbling with the camera.
The best thing to do is go to a camera store (not an electronics store) and hold, look at, and try the different brands and models within your budget. You don't have to buy at that store, but you can get a better feel for the camera when you can walk around with it and actually shoot instead of being tethered to the display stand.
Go to http://www.yellowpages.com and type in camera and your city, state to find the camera stores near you.
Those two are the best out right now for price/performance.
However, the T2i isn't competing with the D3100 - the D3100 is a bit lower and has no other competition yet. T2i has 4 more megapixels and same noise performance, better video frames but no AF while recording them, sharper LCD screen and a bit bigger body.
It all pretty much comes down to your budget, cause they have the same image quality and most other stuff.
