Which Digital SLR is better?

I really want a digital SLR. But I'm not sure which one would be better, the Nikon one or the Canon?

Nikon is better.

Nikon and Canon are pretty much equal

look at the following models to see which one you like best:

Nikon D3000, D5000, D3100
Canon Rebel Xs, T1i, T2i

Canon is cheaper. BUT, i prefer nikon for two main reasons: 1. The way the body feels and the buttons and the whole overall layout on nikons are better. 2.in my experience, the nikkor lenses have less distortions and fringing.
both companies cameras shoot excellent photos, but i just prefer nikon. But like i said, canon is cheaper.

I agree that both Nikon and Canon deliver great quality photos. It's just a matter of preference. I personally love Canon simply because it's the brand I've always trusted since my first point and shoot. But I'm not biased towards Nikon, I just am not too familiar with their equipment.
