I live in richmond va and i need a 35mm slr camera for photography class. I'm looking for pentax k1000, nikon fm10, and canon ae-1. I try looking for one online but there's body only and i need one with the standard lens.

I like bhphotovideo.com. I have bought cameras from them before. Great people!

Try B&H Photo

Try B&H Photo, Adorama, Nikon USA, and Amazon.com
Nikon USA may not sell cameras, but it will show new ones they still make of 35mm film type.

Try your local Craigslist. You can search the Photo/Video section, or post a Wanted ad yourself. It's all free. If/when you find a possible camera, offer to meet in a public place (Starbucks, etc) and, if possible, bring along a knowledgeable friend. There, you should be able to try the camera out before buying.

I've bought several camera and lenses that way, with no problem. BTW, if you were in my area of Northern CA, I'd have about 5 different cameras for you to consider.

Penn Camera (at Tyson's Corner) may stock one of these models, their website is www. PennCamera.com where you can see what used gear they have in stock. I know they regularly have the FM10 on display at the Penn Camera near me so you can definitely buy that one there. And they have a great lab for processing your film there as well as good deals on 35mm film.

You can also try one of these online vendors if Penn doesn't strike you:

www.KEH.com (all they do is sell used cameras, their prices are good and they are reliable)
www.Adorama.com
www.BHPhoto.com
www.CameraRepair.com

I highly recommend against buying from eBay or Craigslist. This is fine for people who can examine a camera and know if it works or not but is of no use to someone who can't. It's just a gamble to buy cameras without a return policy or from a reliable, professional vendor.

Enjoy your class!

Keep looking. Try eBay. There's bound to be one.

This brand new Vivitar may be cheaper than what you are looking for.

It already has a normal lens and accepts all Pentax K-mount lenses.
