Such cameras sell for under $60 with a standard lens on craigslist in the States.
Usually people keep the camera and shoot film from time to time rather than try to use those cameras to raise funds for buying more camera gear. The auto-focus lenses can be used on Nikon D90 or better cameras, so if you have more than one lens, you may want to consider keeping them and start building a digital camera system
