What's a good DSLR type camera I can buy?

I'm ideally wanting 20mp or more, and I don't want to pay more than £400.00, but I don't mind buying second hand gear.

It must also shoot both jpeg and raw photos.

I have seen the Nikon D5300, which I can get for just over £400 but are there any others that I could look at as well. Cheers.

Camera even from like 10 years ago are not much different from new cameras today… For a beginning camera get one with the features that you need and nothing else.
