Can you put any type of lens on Nikon DSLR cameras?
My father has old lens that come off from a Minolta film camera, would they fit on a Nikon DSLR I plan on buying? Such as Nikon d3100?
No. Each camera body has a specific mount that fits lenses designed specifically for that mount.
No, they do not have the same kind of mount. But It would be a pain anyways, as it would be all manual focus. Though it may fit some Canon models.
Not without an adapter - even then, you'll lose autofocus and metering.
Buy body and 18-55mm and use the time it takes to get used to that to save up for a lens or two that give full functionality.
You can only use F-Mount lenses on your camera. Those made by Nikon or made for Nikon. A lens made for Minolta, Pentax, Canon, or others will not work on a Nikon.
Sorry, no.
