So far i have a digital camera. I never bought a one of dslr cameras, but done research about it. I heard that Nikon and Cannon are the best. But Nikon has good dslr cameras and cannon has good digital cameras. I was wondering which camera to buy, Nikon or Cannon? I want to go in depth with photography in the future, and i'm a pro at editing photo quality in photoshop CS3. Also if I were to buy nikon or cannon, which version should I buy (cannon 30d, nikon 50d).

Added (1). I also want a camera with excellent quality, like professional so that I rarely would have to use photoshop CS3. Also, IF YOU CAN, can you guys recommend me the type of lens that I should use for the cameras too.

The cameras you mentioned are pretty old… Nay, really old. Grandfathers in human years.

a good entry level camera would suit you-
Nikons D3000, D5000, D3100, D5100
canons Xs, T3, T1i, T2i, T3i

as for lenses, that matters on what you want to shoot…

for general purpose, the lens supplied is decent. Better would be an all-in-one such as the 18-200 from either company

for wide angle, a decent 35mm f/1.8 lens, or for super wide angle, something like the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

for telephoto, it matters how far you want to go…
for macro, all of them are decent

Canon and Nikon cameras are equal in terms of image quality. You should buy the one that feels most comfortable in your hands. Professional looking photos are up to the skill of the photographer when it comes to using DSLR cameras. By the way, every professional photo you have ever seen has undergone post production. These days post production is done using software like PhotoShop. If you think you are going to get professional looking photos from any camera without working them through PhotoShop you are kidding yourself.
