Maximum i can spend is $500. I need a camera that can be used to capture things/people in motion, great zoom, quality videos and photos, high resolution, and good focus. I want to use it when I'm on vacation and sometimes for my photography. Some options i came up with is a Canon Powershot s100, Canon Powershot ELPH 530 HS, Nikon 1 J1, and Canon Powershot s95.

Are there any cameras that you suggest? Also, leave a review if possible.

It seem you are looking only for compact cameras. At this budget you can have DSLR. DSLR are bigger in size and complicated to understand for beginners. But it is worth.

At this budget, you have Canon 1100D which is way ahead of compact camera. You will not have much zoom with kit lens (18-55mm) but you will get much sharp and creative images with DSLR. Later you can add zoom lens i.e. 55.200 and enhance your creativity in photography.

Check into some cheap DSLRs. They're more worth it and have far more better quality.

My suggestion is to get a decent used camera instead of a new one.

A used entry-level DSLR from Canon and Nikon from a year or two ago (6-8MP models) are more than adequate. Find a package that includes an 18-200 lens or something and you should be all set. At 500, the lens part may be a bit of a stretch however.

Among your options, the Nikon 1 series is the most capable, but more pricey as well and you won't get a long zoom at the base package. A slightly cheaper alternative, yet more flexible due to more lens option is the Olympus EPM, see this link http://su.pr/1a0tgk, I also reviewed it in the past here.http://www.iphotocourse.com/review-olympus-pen-e-pm1-mini-micro-43-camera-user-review/

The three Canons are pocket cameras that don't offer much zoom but the S95 is the best of the lot.

At 500 bucks, my suggestion is the Olympum XZ-1 http://www.iphotocourse.com/olympus-xz-1-digital-camera-review/ this is an excellent camera.

All the cameras you mentioned are point and shoot cameras. Your budget is enough for a DSLR camera. Why don't you go for that?

I highly recommend Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR with 18-55mm IS II Lens and EOS HD Movie Mode:

The Canon S95 is amazing! Image quality rivals my DSLR bodies. I use a 7D and 5D with L lenses. I can't carry those monsters with me all the time. The S95 will be with me always. The display on the back is gorgeous. There are some special effects that are a lot of fun - especially the "miniature" vintage and HDR presets. The (HD!) video is great. I could see using this a point of view on a video shoot. Due to it's small size it could go anywhere. Attach it to a bike helmet or a guitar.
