Getting my first SLR camera.which one would you suggest?
The people at the photoshop suggested Canon Rebel XS priced at $549
and the NIkon D3000 for $499.
I enjoy photography. I enjoy taking pictures of people and with macro.
Right now i'm not planning on buying another lenz.
Which one would you suggest between the two.
Pros and Cons.
Or if you are familiar with one of the two cameras what do you think of them.
Entry level DSLRs like those are all pretty much the same. The most important part is that you learn how to use your new camera on manual mode. If you use any of the auto modes, your photos will look like they were taken with a point and shoot and you will have wasted hundreds of dollars.
While at this time you are trying to save some pennies, look at the more advanced cameras made by the same companies. Someday, you will be upgrading and you will want to own a camera system that has the type camera you may want later
That said, spend at least six months looking at the two cameras you mentioned and their older brothers like the Canon T2i and Nikon D3100. Those will be the type camera technology that will be available in three to four years when you start looking for your next camera.
Study the features and specifications of both the Canon XS and T2i and the Nikon D3000 and D3100 cameras. That should give you a better idea of which camera system you will want to choose and use for the next few decades. Switching camera systems can be THE most expensive thing you can do.
I personally prefer Nikon D3000 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera which is really good. I'm happy with it.
