Vanguard series 2 or savage 111 trophy rifle that come with scope i want already?

So i'm going hunting this fall, and i'm still 13 but i'm turning 14 on halloween, and deer season starts on november 16 here in south dakota.well my grandpa promised me if i worked for the money that he would buy me the rifle i wanted. I really want the Vanguard Series 2 in.270 win. But its $550 then add money for nikon prostaff which is about $180 and leupold ring and base combo pack another $50, so total amount is $780. But then i saw a Savage 111 trophy rifle with the scope i want and comes all how i want it for just $550.so should i try to work for the $780 or should i work for $550? I love to work and help my grandpa on the farm but he lives pretty far away, so should i go work with him and stay with him until summers over, or just go work at mcdonalds?

What scope does the Savage come with? A Bushnell, Nikon, Leupold? Or a no-name?
Because if it's a no-name, I'd recommend you skip it. Whether you realize it or not, the brand of scope is important. A Bushnell is so-so. A Nikon or Leupold is decent. A no-name Chinese knock-off is pretty much junk.
However, a Savage is a great rifle. I see no reason why you would not be happy with it for decades to come. Even if the Savage comes with a lower-end scope like a Bushnell, it should work for a season or two, and you can start saving money for a good Leupold or Nikon.

I like both of those rifles and they are both great hunting rifles. The Savage is a solid, reliable rifle with a well-earned reputation for accuracy and performance. I wouldn't discourage you if that's what you want, but the Vanguard is a much nicer rifle. I have a.30-'06 and it's an all around great gun. It's probably a little over the top for a deer rifle, but there's really nothing wrong with that at all.
Both of those rifles would be a good choice; so you should really check them both out thoroughly and see which one you like the best. You won't make a bad choice either way.

On the rifle subject I would get the Savage, but choose the one that you like best. On a much more important note, work with your grandfather. Forty years from now you will look at that rifle and think of him!

Don't be to fast to pick a gun and scope.consider all your options, you can go to walmart and get a remington 700 for under $450, or a mossberg atr 100 for around $300, but you are right with the scopes and mounts, you don't want to cheap out on that.
