Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon?

I'm looking at getting a used Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon that is said to be in perfect condition. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions about the lens I would love to hear from you.

If it has the nikon mount it should work fine. The lens is rather limited as evidenced by its mm numbers. If that doesn't bother then why not. Just check the lens on your camera before you buy.

I never trust used gear however because unless you are able to hold, mount and use the lens you do not know what you're getting. I'd say if you can do the above and actually shoot with it and you are happy, by all means.

That lens is great if you get a good one but the 2 people I know who bought one both had focussing issues that required a replacement from Sigma under warranty.

I would be suspicious of a used lens as it could be that the original buyer got a bad one and never thought to get it changed - maybe just decided it was poor so cut their losses and decided to sell it!

You really should try it on your camera before parting with cash. If you can't try it then don't buy.
