Problems with uploading pics to my computer since I got a new camera?

I bought a new camera, and I'm currently using my old SD memory card that I used on my other camera I had no problem with loading my pics up from that memory card to my computer, but now that I'm using it on my new camera every time I try to upload pics it says "The filename, directory name or volume lable syntax is not correct". What does this mean? Its the same SD card I've been using for years its a kodak SD and I was using it in my fugi film digital cam & had no problems then now that I'm using it in my nikon digi cam it won't upload pics to my laptop its says what I typed above. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Format it in your camera. Your manual will tell you how.

I agree, did you format the card in the new camera? And what sense does it make to use an old card in a new camera anyway… Makes no sense to me.
