Portable/thin digital SLR cameras?
I want a digital SLR camera that is portable & isn't heavy like the usual one, the Nikon P7000 looks thinner but is there anything else out there? I will go to the store & look at them but i want to know what to ask for.
This Is canon TM, SLR cameras

The P7000 is not a DSLR, it is known as a "bridge" or an advanced P&S camera (in between a P&S and a DSLR). A DSLR would have interchangeable lenses and a larger sensor.
A lot of manufacturers make this type of camera, although I would choose a Canon or Nikon over other brands.
You could check out the new micro 4/3 and sony nex cameras.
Look up the canon rebel t2i its really light compact decently thin and really good dslr for 800 dollars
I hate to say it, but you don't know what a DSLR or SLR camera is… SLR and DSLR cameras have an optical viewfinder and a mirror system which makes them large. There's no such thing as a thin SLR or DSLR camera. The P7000 is a point and shoot camera, and does not even have the interchangeable lenses like a DSLR camera. If you want a nice point and shoot with manual controls like a DSLR look at the following in addition to the P7000:
Canon s95
Panasonic DMC-LX5
As suggested above, have a look at Micro Four-Thirds, Sony NEX, or Samsung NX camera systems. They're basically compact cameras with interchangeable lenses, larger sensors, and other high-end features that one would expect on a DSLR.
If you want an actual compact DSLR then check out Olympus' E620 and E450, Nikon's D3100, or Pentax's K-x.
