Y can go with nikon its best of best, you can chose the 12 to 14 mega pixels, its comes in 3x 4x & 5x. I would like to confirm u that more x will give you the more zooming power, so go with 4x or 5x, but for professional you need at least 12x or 14x, these all configuration in sony will be cost around 11 to 13 thousand, but in cannon or nikon it will be arount 8 to 9 thousand, all camera have the face detection tools smile captures, differents mode to shoot, video recording with HD

See, you have not mentioned your budget. So you are giving us a scope to suggest you thousands of cameras. I consider the term "economical" relative.
Identify your requirements. If you want larger prints of your photos (like life size), you will need 14 megapixel or higher. If you only want to print 6"X4" photos, 8 megapixel is fair enough. You also need identify your purpose. For party shooting, landscapes, portraits 3x to 5x optical zoom is more than enough, while for sports, wildlife photography, you need higher optical zoom (at least 10x).
So I suggest you to identify your purpose, requirement, & consequently your budget. For all purpose photography, I recommend any camera with at least 8 megapixel resolution, 10x optical zoom, mode dialer for manual control.
