Around 1.7 megapixels. It's just picture size. Megapixels has nothing to do with picture or camera quality.

The 1.7MP difference results in about 50% more resolution.

Keep in mind that MP is a measure of the size of the picture, so the 3MP shot would have the 1.7MP more than the 1.3MP shot, so it would result in a bigger image & would look more detailed as a result.
