How long can I record on my GoPro?
I'm recording my school play tomorrow and the first act is about an hour and the second is about 40 minutes so I get a break in between. Will my GoPro (First Generation) be able to record the whole thing? My Nikon stops every 20 minutes. I have a 16GB SD card so that should cover it.
I'm Freshman in high school and i love photography, i have a Nikon D5200 right now. I really want to do Wildlife Photography when i get older. I was wondering where the best college for this is and what i should do to prepare for it? Should i get some sort of degree in Zoology maybe?
Can you put any sigma lens on any camera?
Can you put any sigma lens on any camera?
I'm getting a Nikon D3300 for plane spotting and I'm getting so confused with about 2 million Amazon search results for a Nikon lens. Which one should I get? I've seen the really bad zoom on the stock 18-55mm and I'm looking for a great zoom lens that's under $200.
Tips for plane spotting equipment?
So for promotion I'm getting a new camera (most likely a Nikon D3300) and I'd like to know what kind of equipment I'll need when plane spotting. This includes lenses, lens hood, all those other items. I love my current camera but when I'm plane spotting at sunset my shots get ruined by noise and tend to take longer to autofocus. This being said, it would be nice to get a camera that is capable of doing long exposures and taking good night shots. Also, me being an amateur photographer, I'd like to know how I'd be able to take good nightshots with the future camera. Also I appreciate any thoughts on whether this camera is good enough for plane spotting. Also I would draw the budget line at about $600-700.
Have you bought a generic RX-100 battery and how does it compare with the genuine one?
I've read that some generic ones can actually be as good or even better than the real batteries. Of course i'm guessing most are not worth it.
Have you bought any generic ones and found they are just as good and where from?
What alternatives are there to a Nikon 1 J2?
My brother has the camera listed above. If I'm honest, I love using it more than he does, and I probably use it more too.
I've always loved taking photos, so I'd like to upgrade my current offerings: a couple of basic compacts, and a huge unused Finepix S4000 bridge camera (I bought it for the zoom - when I was younger, I thought the higher the optical zoom, the better the camera).
I don't really have any interest in (or enough money for) a DSLR. I love the crisp, quality photos that the Nikon produces, and it's 'small focus area' you get with better quality cameras (sorry, no idea what that's called). Especially for such a low priced camera.
I'm looking for something of a similar size, that can fit easily in a bag for travelling (like the Canon S110 maybe?), as it will most likely travel the world with me. I'd prefer not an interchangeable lens, but if the quality is a lot less without, then I don't really mind having one. The ability to take good low light photos would be wonderful. True colour representation is a high point, nice sunsets and vivid bright colours, I want nice photos from my travels. Slow mo video would be fun, but not necessary. I will never use Wi-Fi or a touchscreen.
Similar price to the Nikon 1 J2 would be nice, but I've recently been given a bit of money, so I can probably go to the £250 mark, treat myself (I'm but a lowly third year student). I could save up though.
So just wondering if there are any alternatives I could look in to?
Macbook Pro 512gb or 256gb ssd?
I'm planning on buying myself a macbook pro but I have no idea how much ssd I will need.
I often take photos on my Nikon and like to store them on my laptop but I don't take photography very often unless I'm on holiday then I would take over 500 photos and later store them on my laptop. Apart from photography, I don't really download much, maybe a few programmes here and there and I might consider starting a youtube channel so if I was to then I would be storing the videos on the laptop too.
I think I will be using the laptop for more than 5 years but I don't know if I should spend the extra money on more SSD.

Manually adjust flash power on Canon Speedlite 90EX?
So I bought an EOS M and it came with the (seemingly) useless Speedlite 90EX. While it does TTL on the EOS M, my main system is around a Nikon D5200. I'm thinking about getting a new manual flash (TTL is too expensive for me) to use off camera with some cheapo transmitters and receivers off eBay. Is there any way to control the flash power on this or will I have to buy a new manual flash (like the Yongnuo)?
